Blog Journal 6
My initial experiences using Diigo were not that good because I struggled to use the site. I found Diigo to be very complicated for doing such simple tasks. I like that Diigo allows you to share what you've highlighted on the webpage and marked up. However, I wish there was a cloud storage system for all of the marked up web pages so I can save them myself.
My experiences with blogging have been very lackluster because I like to articulate my thoughts and emotions with my voice not with words on a computer. Sometimes I find myself struggling with composing sentences and framing sentences the right way because I am unsure of how to best present myself and my thoughts. However, I do believe that it is a good introductory resource to the internet and a good way to keep tabs on students. Furthermore I believe that blogging may be the best option for some people to express themselves if they struggle with verbal conversations.
An interesting Web 2.0 tool that I will use in the future when I am educating is Youtube. Youtube is an internet platform that allows people to upload videos to it. I chose Youtube because growing up it helped me during my education by finding different perspectives from other educators on the same topic. For example, when I was struggling in my chemistry course I used Youtube to find a teacher who explained the information in a way that I was able to understand. I think this will be very beneficial to my students if they can't understand something the way I teach and they go find another method of instruction.
