My experiences in EME2040 have been decent so far. I am taking the course asynchronously but I feel that I would have done much better if I took the course in person. Furthermore, the instructor is very nice and gives great directions on the assignment. My grade is currently not where I want it to be and I am feeling kind of depressed about the situation, but I feel that I am very resilient and will bounce back to pass the class. I would recommend this class to people even if they weren't interested in education because I've learned a lot about how to teach people with technology.
Open educational resources are resources that are completely free and are useful for teaching, learning, assessing, and for research. The open educational resource that I stumbled across was Khan Academy. Khan academy is a website that helps teach learners by providing a vast amount of information and videos on multiple subject areas. The resource that I decided to analyze was on urbanization and immigration during the 1920's. The video I watched relayed a historical timeline of the influx of people into cities such as New York and the increase of immigrants from other countries hoping to gain better financial income.

While working on assignment number 4 I learned a few new skills in Powerpoint that I had not been aware of previously. I learned how to record myself giving a presentation and how to save the file as a mp4 file on my computer. One thing that I did not like about the assignment was the Word Art portion that had to be integrated into the presentation because I was never able to figure it out. However, one characteristic of the assignment that I did enjoy was the overall creative freedom that we were granted with our presentations because I was able to do a presentation on something that I am passionate about and familiar with.
Can you modify Khan Academy contents to create your own course materials? If you can't modify, it's not OER. Not all free resources are not OER if you cannot modify them. Please check 5Rs of OER.
